    Interpreting Variation

    You've Interpreted Variation

    Understanding Variation in Your Data

Here's a few helpful tips when interpreting variation in EasySPC

Common cause variation is the natural, inherent variation present in every process, it's predictable and means your process is 'in control'.

Special cause variation signals that something different has happened. EasySPC automatically highlights it so you can spot it immediately.

Don't overreact to common cause variation, reacting to every data point can actually make things worse. This is called 'tampering'.

When special cause variation is detected, investigate what caused it. If positive, look to embed it. If negative, identify and remove the cause.
